Abigail was ok today. Her blood work was almost the same as yesterday. Dr. King said her CO2 level was in the mid 50s which was about where he expected. He said she does have some chronic lung disease. They switched her anibiotic to fight a different bug in her lungs. It's what happens when she is a ventilator for so long. She is still doing good. It's just hard to see her deal with the pain. There is not a lot we can do. We can massage her, hold her hand, stroke her head, change her diaper. That's about it. In a week or so, she should be off the vent. I will ask and push to hold her once she is off the ventilator.

You absolutely should push to hol dher! It will be sooo good for her. Maybe you can even hold her sooner, we held our baby a few times when she was on the vent. It's a production, but it will be the best thing for Abby - and YOU!
