Two Months Old...The Night Before Christmas!

They cleaned her out again this morning. They do that to keep the infection from getting out of control. So far, it has not gone into her bloodstream. They changed her dressing. It's not that brown "seran wrap" anymore. They put on a skin graft and some silver antimicrobial thing over top her chest now.

We seem to have entered a new phase. Last week, things were happening almost daily. Now, we are in a slower time. She just has to get fluids off and continue to recover from everything that she has been through. We all have to have patience.

Merry Christmas to everyone. The hospital had carolers come through the PICU. This certainly is a different Christmas for all of us.

May the prayers of those who care whisper near you as you drift to sleep. Next year at this time little Abby will be excitedly opening Christmas presents! Merry Christmas!

I stumbled upon your blog randomly while looking up something on the internet. We have a baby in the NICU this Christmas, too. She's been in 6 1/2 weeks and things were very bleak for her at first. The doctors all tell us now what a miracle she is. I know your Abby is a miracle, too! She is in my prayers.

Aunt Rosemary and I have been praying for you all. So have others from Redeemer Church. Glad Abby seems to be stabilized for now and hopefully the operation can be scheduled soon.
